United Arab Emirates: Children Under 15 Must Provide Original Birth Certificate When Applying for Emirates ID Card
Children under the age of 15 are now required to submit their original birth certificate when registering and applying for an Emirates ID Card. Those who do not present their original birth certificate will be unable to register or apply for the ID card. This change took effect September 30, 2012.
The United Arab Emirates requires all residents to register and obtain an Emirates ID Card. Foreign nationals are required to register or apply for an Emirates ID Card within 30 days of entering the country. Foreign residents who do not register and obtain the Emirates ID Card are subject to fines of AED 20 per day, up to a maximum fine of AED 1,000.
