Russia: Highly Qualified Specialist Work Permit Extensions Must Be Filed at Least 30 Days Before ExpirationAn application to extend a Highly Qualified Specialist work permit filed less than 30 days in advance will not be accepted, effective immediately.

Extension applications for Highly Qualified Specialist (HQS) work permits must be filed no later than 30 days before the permit expires, under a new policy from the Federal Migration Service that took effect immediately.

HQS extension applications filed less than 30 days in advance of expiration will not be accepted. HQS holders who are unable to file a timely extension have to leave Russia and apply for a new permit from abroad.
