  • genuine thought leadership offering advice and guidance
  • concise and accessible communication of findings

 

Corporate Only Awards:

This category celebrates how an in-house global mobility/international assignments/HR team has worked together to deliver objectives and benefits that support the business strategies of their organization.

An assignment population of 250 or less has specific challenges in terms of the critical mass of resources that can be applied to the global mobility function.

Therefore, entrants should explain how the individual and collective skills of their mobility team contributed to their success in delivering considered objectives, innovation and verifiable, measureable results in support of business goals. Examples of both strategic action and customer/client service can be used to demonstrate achievements.

Global Mobility Team of the Year – 250 – 1000 assignees

  • Europe – Sponsored by Fragomen

This category celebrates how an in-house global mobility/international assignments/HR team has worked together to deliver objectives and benefits that support the business strategies of their organization.

Having a larger assignment portfolio is likely to introduce various points of complexity both in terms of assignee management but also in terms of intra-company communications.

Therefore, entrants should explain how the individual and collective skills of their mobility team contributed to their success in delivering considered objectives, innovation and verifiable, measureable results in support of business goals. Examples of both strategic action and customer/client service can be used to demonstrate achievements

An assignment population of more than 1000 would rightly be regarded as a “mega” program that presents unique challenges not only in assignee management but also for the strategic role of the function, its interfaces with internal customers/clients as well as other stakeholders.

Therefore, entrants should explain how the individual and collective skills of their mobility team contributed to their success in delivering considered objectives, innovation and verifiable, measureable results in support of business goals. Expatriates often have to work in challenging conditions and difficult locations.

Best Practice companies have well designed programs and policies for risk and continuity management and are able to respond rapidly to medical emergencies, natural disasters and political turmoil.

Entrants/nominees should be able to demonstrate how they address these problems and give examples of successful outcomes

Most Effective Relocation Management Strategy

In this category judges will be looking at the best possible use of resources across the management of international relocation.

Entrants should show:

  • The requirement for improved strategy within their company or organization as regards relocation
  • Clear evidence of any innovations, effective deployment of resources or improvement in cost management
  • Longer term impact and lessons learned and how any improved methods have been introduced to other parts of the business or other clients.

 

Open to All

It is well known that when international assignments fail, the reason is often that the spouse or non-employee partner is unhappy in the new location. Many companies have spousal support programs to deal with this aspect and this award is to reflect their operation.

Entrants should explain how their program supports business objectives whilst also meeting the needs and requirements of spouses and partners. They should give day-to-day examples of support activities such as employment counselling, language instruction, social networking and other related solutions.

The policies, processes and information that make up the global mobility function are detailed and complex and should be ideal subjects for automation. However the same complexities throw up challenges and opportunities for a variety of potential software solutions.

In this category, we will be seeking nominees from solution providers or corporate teams who have developed bespoke solutions who can demonstrate that their product or system:

  • Addresses a key need/needs within the global mobility market
  • Displays comprehensive functionality
  • Is user-friendly
  • Provides value for money to clients and customers

Global Mobility Professional of the Year

  • Europe – Sponsored by Equus Software
Nominations for this category will be for those who will have likely worked in excess of five years in our industry.

The judges will be looking for evidence of a significant, consistent record of achievement with regard to such features as quality of service delivery, innovation, knowledge and overall professional reputation.

Winners in this category are those likely to be considered for the Outstanding Contribution Award in future years.

Candidates can be nominated from both corporate and supplier members.

Global Mobility’s Rising Star

  • Europe – Sponsored by HSBC
In this category we are seeking to identify key achievers and personalities who are likely to be within their first five years of working within global mobility/expatriate management.

They will be regarded by their colleagues and peers as having made a significant impact in the early years of their career and be destined to be the “movers and shakers” in our industry for the future.

Candidates can be nominated from both corporate and supplier members.

The EMMA for Outstanding Contribution to Global Mobility is the most prestigious accolade we can bestow. This Award is solely in the gift of The Forum for Expatriate Management and recognizes Lifetime Achievement.
