Alan is responsible for managing Unilever’s International Assignment programme supporting 1500 International Assignees in over 85 countries.  Alan has over 16 years experience in the Mobility field and is currently based in Singapore, having previously lived in London, New York and Sydney.

Pieter Cross – Novartis Pharma AG

Global Mobility Tax and Payroll, Novartis

Pieter Cross is responsible for all Global Mobility Tax and Payroll related matters at Novartis, in Basel, Switzerland.   Prior to Novartis Pieter also worked for Roche as an International Assignment Manager and spent some eight years with the big four in London, Geneva, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf.

Tracy Figliola – HSBC

Tracy Figliola heads the Global Mobility Regional Hub for EMEA for HSBC Bank The Group presently has 2096 International Assignees, across 86 countries managed through four Regional Hubs covering ASP, EMEA, NAM, LATAM and a Central Operations Team based in Hyderabad India. Global Mobility as a function executes the Group’s International Mobility Programs covering four assignee categories: International Managers (IM), International Secondees (IS), International Contract Executives (ICE) & Short Term Assignees (STA) The Central Operations Team manages the transactional activities, whereas the Regional Hubs consists of Relationship Managers who act as the conduit between home and host businesses and HR’s, Global Mobility Central Operations Team and the respective home and host Global Mobility Regional hub, multiple vendors and the assignee. The key objectives of the hubs are to provide a quality and timely experience for the assignee and their family, provide consultative and technical advice to the business and HR’s to assist with assignment packages, compliance and tax and social security planning.

Tracy has extensive experience and knowledge in the Global Mobility field and she has played an integral part in HSBC’s recent Global Mobility Transformation initiative which developed new global process, structure and systems. Before her career in Global Mobility and International Compensation Tracy was Compensations Manager for HSBC.

Neil Gardner – Morgan Stanley

Neil Gardner is the EMEA head of Reward, Employee Tax and Mobility at Morgan Stanley, based in London.  He gained his professional qualifications with one of the (now) big four accounting firms specializing in expatriate taxation.  With over 16 years global  mobility experience,  Neil leads the ongoing review, reengineering  and execution of the Firm’s EMEA assignee programs to ensure that (i) individual and Firm needs are met, (ii) best practice is maintained, and (iii) legal, regulatory and tax compliance is adhered to at all times.

Didier Hoff – Fidal International

Partner, Head of Human Capital

Didier Hoff is the Partner in charge of the Human Capital Practice within FIDAL’s “Direction Internationale”. FIDAL is the leading French business law firm and benefits from a cooperation agreement with KPMG Tax network.  FIDAL’s Human Capital activities are currently organized into three areas of expertise: Compensation & Benefits, Employment Law and International Executive Services.

With over 20 years of experience in France, the US and the UK, Didier has an established track record on designing and implementing efficient international global mobility solutions for multinational organizations. He also advises on issues relating to international individual tax and compensation planning with a primary focus on executive compensation benefits and equity.

Didier holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from HEC – France and a Master of Finance from Boston College – USA. He is also a registered attorney with the Hauts de Seine Bar Association in France.

Milton Ives – Mars Inc

Milton Ives is the Global Mobility Director for Mars Incorporated. Over the past two years, he has driven a major transformation of the mobility programme to ensure alignment with business goals and the talent management strategy.

Before joining Mars, Milton worked in financial services and management consulting and has lived and worked in the Middle East and Asia. He holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Management, a Business Studies degree and is a member of the Institute of Personnel & Development (MIPD).

Ellen Jansma - Heineken

Ellen is, together with her team (total 10), responsible for all International Assignments within Heineken, since 2004. In this position lie both a policy and an operational responsibility. Expatriation within Heineken is centralised at Corporate Office in Amsterdam. Currently she is working on; culture awareness programs for all expatriates and their family’s , integrating policy’s of new acquired company Femsa/CCM, optimizing financial and internal processes, balancing in and outsourcing assignment related responsibilities and aiming to find a balance between operational opportunism, compliance, innovatory attitude and necessary perseverance.

Ellen has an extensive HR background. Prior to joining Heineken, Ellen worked in various International HR management positions. She graduated in Human Resource Management and is currently a MBA student at Nyenrode University.

Peter Lambert - BAE Systems 

Peter Lambert has worked in Global Mobility for nearly 30 years. He gained his professional qualifications with one of the now big 4 accountancy firms specialising in expatriate tax and social security. Peter then moved to International HR in the financial services sector and primarily worked with organisations to help ensure their internal mobility function was fit to support the changing needs of the business.

This experience included building global mobility functions, broadened out into remuneration and benefits strategy, design and implementation, into interim HR management and also included first hand experience of outsourcing HR functions. Based in the UK, he has previously lived and worked in Switzerland and Australia and has travelled extensively to experience and understand differences in living conditions around the world. Peter moved from the financial services sector in 2008 and joined BAE Systems as Director of Global Mobility at the end of 2009.

Alex Paterson – Fragomen

Alex is Managing Partner of Fragomen’s London office. She represents some of the world’s largest companies across a diverse industry base. Alex has extensive experience of advising on complex UK immigration law matters and she also assists companies with many complex multi-jurisdictional project requirements, with a particular focus on the EMEA region.

Alex advises companies on design and implementation of global and regional immigration programmes to facilitate effective movement of resources, whilst ensuring full compliance. She also helps global companies implement policies in respect of business visitor travel.

Shauna Page – Cisco

Shauna has over 12 years experience in Global Relocation and  is currently the Head of  Relocation, Tax and Immigration for European and Emerging Markets at Cisco. She has held this role for the last 4 years, prior to rejoining Cisco, Shauna has held roles as an Account Director at Cartus, Senior Manager in Global Mobility at Ernst and Young as well as consulting positions at Goldman Sachs and Experian – where she led Global Relocation tenders as well as policy review/ design.  Shauna brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of Global Relocation.

Scott Radford - EADS International Mobility Center

Scott Radford spent several years working in expatriate taxation within most of the Big 4 firms before finally making the leap into industry with Intel. After some years there, managing employee taxes for EMEA, he and his family moved to Toulouse, where he worked first for Airbus and now for the parent group, EADS.

As Head of the EADS International Mobility Center, Scott tries to oversee the consistent implementation of group-wide assignment policies alongside improved management of service providers

Stefan Rauth –  BMW

Vice President HR Greenfield Project, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.

After several years in different companies (always in HR) Stefan joined the BMW Group and was responsible to build up the e-business start-up ‘nexolab’. After that he was responsible for the BMW branches in Germany (63 subsidiaries and up to 7,500 employees) before he became General Manager for international HR worldwide. Actual he is in charge of HR in Shenyang/China for the built up of the new plant.

Dirk Steinbrink –  BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH

Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, Dirk Steinbrink, business economist, is Head of Section for International Delegations responsible for Impatriate Management, Crosscountry Transfers and as well of Executives Subsidiaries worldwide. Working in this field since 5 years, before that being responsible for 5 years for german Expatriate Management.

Peter Sewell – Tesco

Peter Sewell has worked in the Expatriate arena for the last 14 years. His first appointment as International HR Manager was at Marks and Spencer and from there he moved to be a Senior Manager at Andersen/Deloitte. Peter joined Tesco in 2006 where he is currently the Head of Global Mobility overseeing expatriates in 19 locations worldwide.  Having established his core team operating from Tesco Global Employment Company in Thailand, his current focus is on supporting the roll out of new direct sourcing teams in various locations around the globe.

Caroline Thorley Farrer – Atos Origin

Caroline Thorley-Farrer started her career in Mobility working for Arthur Andersen in Brussels, Belgium, specialising in expatriate tax. She then made the move into Mobility by joining Deloitte in London. Caroline then moved in-house with an assignment manager role at Atos Origin from where she quickly progressed to become Global Mobility Director. Currently in a project role, Caroline is working with Prudential plc to assist them with assignment policy design and general assignment management process improvements.

Helen Walton – Astra Zeneca

Helen is Director of Global Mobility at AstraZeneca Plc, a major pharmaceutical company.  For the past eight years she has led a team responsible for the design, development and delivery of high quality policy solutions and specialised programmes to support international assignments globally.  In 2008 Global Mobility was repositioned within AstraZeneca to align with Talent and Strategic Workforce Planning in order to strengthen the support for talent development of individuals and capability development for the organisation as a whole.  In January 2011 her role was expanded to include one-time relocation globally.

She has held a number of general and specialist positions in HR, predominantly within the pharmaceutical sector, and spent several years working within finance before assuming responsibility for global mobility.

Stuart Woollard – King’s College London

Stuart Woollard is Director of King’s College London’s Management Learning Board, connecting organisations with world class academic research and knowledge on contemporary management issues. Stuart previously worked as a senior management consultant, as a global HR director and was UK managing director at E*TRADE Financial. He has published research on the role of HR in international mergers and acquisitions, on talent management in a global context, and is co-author of King’s annual State of HR Survey.

Kay Vaughan – Siemens

Kay has worked in the field of Expatriate Management since 1998 working for Siemens Corporate HR followed by a transfer to Siemens Shared Services to establish and manage the centre of competence – International Delegation Unit – for Siemens UK. This role encompassed all aspects of expatriate management including service delivery for 1000+ delegates, management and governance. Kay has also participated in numerous global projects and Steering Boards e.g the design of a new global policy and the redesign of a complete expatriate programme.

Kay has recently been involved in separating service delivery from governance with the aim of increasing transparency for the internal customer base. In doing so, Kay has assumed responsibility for Head of Delegation Governance at Siemens within Corporate Human Resources with effect from Jan 2011. (Kay is currently on maternity leave.)
